Chimney Liners and HeatShield

Your chimney may look fine on the outside, but what about the inside? Unfortunately, the potential for hidden dangers inside your chimney is high. Chimney liners can become cracked and spalled, and the mortar between clay flue liners will often break down, creating dangerous gaps.

HeatShield® Cerfractory Sealant

If you are concerned about the expense of a new liner, we have an alternative called the HeatShield® Cerfractory Sealant. HeatShield® is a chimney liner repair system that can be used to repair gaps, cracks and spalling in chimneys that are still structurally sound and viable for continued use.

HeatShield® is a hybrid ceramic/refractory coating that can withstand moisture, corrosive gases and extremely high temperatures. It is also an environmentally-friendly product, as it is manufactured from recycled and natural materials. This method of chimney repair has been used in Europe for more than 20 years. It has gained popularity in the U.S. because it allows you to repair the liner without removing the clay tiles, which can be an expensive and destructive process. Installing a HeatShield® takes about half the time and allows you to keep the clay tiles intact, providing a cost-effective alternative to replacing your chimney liner. The HeatShield® process is much less labor intensive and easier on your chimney structure.

The Fluesbrothers are independent, factory-trained HeatShield® installers. With this system, you can rest assured that your chimney is safer and operating more efficiently. Call Fluesbrothers and we can evaluate your chimney and let you know if HeatShield® is right for your home.
